Setting a global standard for sustainable construction
The BCA awarded Dragages Singapore the construction of its new education and research facility, the BCA Academy, comprising a 7-storey “Zero Energy Building built with Mass Engineering Timber (MET), and a 16-storey “Super Low Energy Building” built with Advanced Precast Construction System (APCS) and Pre-fabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC).
Spanning over 21,800m2, the facility combines sustainable design with innovative technology for minimal energy consumption and efficient energy management. Passive solutions such as natural ventilation and improved thermal insulation combined with intelligent lighting and high-efficiency equipment boost the building’s eco-rating while improving occupant comfort.
